Our project was done at Academia Focus in Shopping da Gávea. Our mediator's name is Edson Vasconcelos and he gives Active Flex classes, a body stretching class emphasizing Pilates and Yoga. His main goal in his work is to achieve student's welfare with exercises of body stretching and slackness.

According to the ensemble of words that makes up Edson's vocabulary universe, we recognized as the objective to the project: "Approaching flexibility to the limit"

Edson is always trying to increase the flexibility of his students with stretching exercises, since he believes that when a person reaches the limit of her flexibility, another limit is established.

Basing on the experiments accomplished and organized by the mediator, we identified his intention in working out the flexibility of his students by using stretching objects emphasizing the use of colors to distinguish the strength of the objects, since every student has his own flexibility.

6 objects were built, 2 of each color matching the bigger strengths, the medium and the smaller ones (red, yellow and green, respectively).

The materials used on the object construction were stretch tourniquet, Lycra, plastic tube, EVA and push-buttons. The mediator is using the object with his students to practice the stretching exercises according to the flexibility of each person and also to cheer up the class due to the objects' colors. Still, he believes that the objects use is good because the Lycra and the EVA preserves the student's hand; after all, there is no need to touch the rubber to do the exercises.

The project helped Maria Ilka by giving her some new knowledge, like discovering different places and materials that she didn't know before and also taught her how to have the courage to make things by herself, with responsibility in making a product with the quality that matches the job that has been done.

Rafael learned to not only think something and write it down, but to "work on" something, literally; to construct using a lot of variations following a methodology, and in the end when looking back at the amount of things you have done to achieve a final result, getting surprised with what you are actually capable to do.
