Movement and alert body signalizes Team: Henrique Meyrelles henrique.mrm@hotmail.com Julia
Sá Earp de Castro juliasaearp@gmail.com Social Group: Teacher Glória Rezende
Leblon Arts center Rua Gilberto Cardoso, s/n CEP:224421-050 gloriarezende@ig.com.br Tel.: 7897-5443 We accomplished this project at the Núcleo de Artes
do Leblon, at Gloria Rezende’s acrobatic class. The activity is a solo acrobatic class for all the
different ages present in the Núcleo., without any age restriction, the class
usually has around 20 students. The class always starts with some relaxing and
stretching exercises, fallowed by group activity involving acrobatics
movements. Both space and students are usually divided. Putting
the students in different groups and having simultaneous activities helps the
teacher organizing the class.
After having collected Gloria’s vocabulary universe
we came to our project theme: “Acrobatics that experiments movements with the
attentive body.”’ We are able to connect this sentence with all the
activities that we have been observing in Gloria’s class, because she’s
always looking for exploring the experimentation of exercises, proposing new
challenges to her students. That demands the focus of the student attention
toward there own bodies. One of the common activities that takes place in
Gloria’s class is a sequence of movements that the teacher instructs the
students to realize. The sequence consist in acrobatics movements such as:
rolls, hand stops and others. After this observing stage, we came up with the
concept of our object, witch is underlining the movement focusing the
attention into the body. With that in mind we sewed up elastic tubes made of
viscolycra in five different sizes, making reference to five parts of our
body : legs, shin, arms, forearms and waist. We sewed it all up in a overlock machine. To
generate the junction of these tubes one with the other, we’ve made plaits, using ribbons from the
tube. And 18 little bags made of Brim, with viscolycra’s
shams, in three different weights: sand, seeds and cotton. Gloria uses the object in many different ways,
always adapting to the proposed activity. For example she uses it to
underline children body parts, connecting two children, using as an obstacle
and in any other suitable way. Henrique Meyrelles: I learned about
people to design a more humane vision of this practice, always looking for
better coexistence between everything and everyone. Thank Julinha we move through this process together,
in which everything was so right, it generates in me a certain peace with
everything that can be done. I thank Henrique for making this project together
with me, helping to make this project a task to be performed satisfactorily. Discipline: DSG 1002 Class: 1AE Teacher: Ana Branco e Vicente |
