  Our project conducted at the Municipal School Luiz Delfino, in Gávea, and had as intercessor teacher Elizabeth, also known as Beth.

     The class, with about twenty-four pupils aged between ten and twelve years, are in the fifth grade, and Beth teaches all subjects except physical education.
We follow basically the lessons of Portuguese and Mathematics, and we basically observed the class reading and solving mathematical equations. At the end of each week, Beth prepares tests to assess their students before the test bimonthly.
From the play of words that makes up the vocabulary universe, Beth recognize as the theme for the project:

   "We will be a different class coloring the world with joy and pleasure."
The works Beth asks her students to do, is always seeking to encourage and stimulate creativity and learning.
From the experimentation, the first objects - "bait" - we define the concept of the project. Since Beth has used most of them to reward the students at weekly tests, we realized it was important to seize and self-esteem the students attending the parents of their achievements in the classroom. Our initial briefing is something that carried the chest to honor their performance in class and this object also makes students feel seized and their parents capable to interact with the teacher.
Our final product is the symbolic kit of victory of conquest of the students, a track and a "belt", all made of fabric and sewn by machine with the phrase “I deserve to be the highlight of the week!”, which are objects that reward students valuing their learning. The teacher uses to reward the student who stands out with some difference in the classroom, not only with their notes, but also with attitudes too. The track when he handed the student, is supposed to be taken home for the parents to take their consent in school. After the parents have read the note written by the teacher, they send back their signature or even their comments to the teacher. Our product enables the communication between the teacher, the students and their parents, uniting school with the student’s lives

 

Evaluation Intercessor

It was a great experience, not only for me but for all my students. When we received the students Julie and Monica, we were surprised, every day, for a novelty or a new activity. In their first visits, I noticed that they wrote down many things I was saying, and some time later they returned with words collected, which were part of my vocabulary universe. After that they came back showing me some very interesting sentences they had formed in their classes that represented the universe we live in the school. With each new experiment, grew our curiosity to know what would come with all that. At one point I told them the lack that makes me be in contact with the student’s parents to inform them of the income of their children. With this, every day, they returned with news and new creations, according to what they thought about this subject. The project became a huge enabler for me now and then, as a teacher in order to educate parents that their children are struggling, every day to overcome and excel in school. This transfers a feeling of power and conquers to them, and I feel that this was missing the day-to-day. This experience will be certainly valid both for me and for the parents, but especially for the students who may finally feel valued and their qualities, recognized. I thank the students because they have developed a work so beautiful that aims to bring joy and confidence to the students. This will be critical to their growth, not only as students but also as individuals.
