            Our project had place in Novo Leblon's Sports Center, Barra, with professor Gilberto Bicalho. He is a Sensei and teaches aikidô. We followed him for a semester, where we saw.. and exercises that estimulate trust, and of course the weapon use, always in pairs. From the amount of words that compose Gilberto's vocabular universe, the project theme is explicited by: "teaching the harmony is the art to center the way".

            We can observe this concept through the swords use, where the movimentos are copied and must be done in a peaceful way. The weapons are for everybody's commom use, that's why it's necessary to be careful with it, because it's yours and everybody else's. We built a "rack" for the "bokkens" and "bos" in black velvet with strings made from the same material to hold the weapons, plus the Japanese symbol for "Harmony" in white attached to it. Bambu sticks support the "rack". It's hanging on the dojo's wall like a painting. The last one to use it must leave the weapon there and show respect by doing a reverence, in sign of discipline. That became a ritual encouraged by Gilberto himself, who cherish discipline more than anything, devoting his whole life to ki-aikidô. This experience showed us how to apreciate other job. We lived adult life situations that we are getting into now. We had commitments that we hadn't at school.

Maria Eduarda: You can say it's the opening of a totally different period of time in our lives. It was a hardcore work and we wanted to give up so many times, but we had a commitment with our teachers, with Gilberto and ourselves.

Guilherme: I can asure that the concept of the word "project" changed completely for me after this job. Now, I understand better what it is to make a project.
