Project done on REVIVA (Cranniofacial Anomaly Treatment Center) In this place, the pacients, usually kids, with cranniofacial anomalies, specially hare-lip, are attended by a group of proffessionals. Cida is one of the entertainers andpedagogues that work there, doing activities with the children in between services, what can be sometimes a preety long wait. One of the activities I watched there was Cida playing a memory game with a kid with a real bad case of hare-lip, and because of that, he could barely speak, so he was ashamed, because people coulnd`t understand what he was saying, Cida played with him, inciting him to lose the shame and to speak. From the set of words that composes Maria Aparecida Souza Cerceau`s vocabulary universe, we acknoledged as the project`s theme the sentence: “Children always feel different” Cida is used to cutting face parts from magazines and giving it to the kids for they to make different faces and paste it on paper. The concept that was defined as objective to the projectbased on the fist ideas` experiments was the different face building concept in a way that could be on a board and that could be build and rebuild different faces over and over again. The final object that was build was a galvanized steel board covered with thin light blue plastic with a wooden frame and several EVA face parts glued on magnetic sheet, and is being used to build many different faces by the kids. To me this experience served to get to know the differences between people better, also theis difficulties and to see how hard it is the development ena the overcome of these problems by the children. I thank Cida for showing me the problems that kids with cranniofacial anomalies may have, what made my compassion for these kids to increase.
