At Hidrovida, aquatics activities centre, we met Thyssiane who is a teacher of Hydro gymnastic and swim for adults. In her classes of hydro gymnastic for elderly, Thyssiane gives specialized exercises, working on balance, motor coordination and breathing. With the group of words that makes part of Thyssiane’s work vocabulary we recognized as the theme for our project: “A Welfare body inspire quality of life” Thyssiane chose this phrase because it’s related directed with the work she does in her classes oh hydro gymnastic. She said that all the exercises that are done are to improve the healthy of the students and the quality of their lives. After a lot of experiments we arrive at a palm for hydro gymnastic. The object has a lot of advantages, said by Thyssiane, some of them are: you can do more than one exercise with it, there’s no other like it and it’s comfortable. The student can use it without complaining about pain in the hands, giving him comfort. We made a big hand with E.V.A., with holes for each finger, which allows you to hold firm during the activity. The fact that it’s a format of a hand gives happiness to the class and calls the attention of the students, making them do the exercises. “The experience of this project made me a firmer person. During the semester I learnt to listen to people and realize how simple things done for us can affect so deeply in peoples life. This makes the work with people a unique experience. (Tiago) “With this first experience of project I could have my first contact with the professional area. I learnt how to observe things differently, always aware for all the information that was given to me directly and indirectly. I developed the capacity of find a theme and elaborate ideas to make it possible to experiment. I found the importance of experiments in this kind of work.” (Marina)
