The Project was realized in partnership, Jeannine Crepon and Julio Parente, the project took place in the Laboratório Social Jardim Botanico with the help of High-School teacher Eduardo Monteiro.

 

Down in the  Laboratório Social do Jardim Botanico exists a social work entity that provides a technical workshop in gardening  which lasts for 12 months. Within the workshop there’s school backup classes, art classes, computer classes and art classes.. Eduardo Monteiro teaches instrumental Portuguese classes on  Wednesday and geography/history classes on Thursday.

 

Edurado Monteiro´s  Portuguese lessons on Wednesday have always looked for a good deal of learning certifying that all class is up to date with the work.. O teacher also gives history; geography classes using all kinds of examples to better illustrate the lesson.

 

From the group of words that make part of Eduardo´s vocabulary  we recognized this as our project goal:

“Responsibility is the passport to the future ”

 

As he teaches students who live  in a risk-situation area, Eduardo is always looking for a bridge between school-learning and  social-learning. That’s why he’s always trying to give examples in his history/Portuguese lessons  in order to the kids learn about questions of responsibility and respect.

The product aims for the development of basic history/geography knowledge through a playful activity, on this case the puzzle, that way raising the child’s interest in this area..

The final object was a puzzle made of magnet pieces. On one side the puzzle is made of a timeline  where the student places the historical happening in the correct order, on the other side there’s a world-map puzzle.

Eduardo uses this product as a complement in his geography and history classes, in order to entertain the

class and teach a little bit.

 

For me (Júlio Parente) the Project with Ana  was a really open-minder in the design and Project areas. I have learned a lot in

 the  way, specially to work a lot.

. I thank Jeannnine who’s shown herself as a great partner all along the way which generates admiration

. A thank Eduardo for teaching me all along the way which generates inspiration in me.

 

The project “Alphabet that helps the friends” was carried through Municipal school Sergio Vieira de Mello in Rio de Janeiro with the primary teacher of the first grade Geni Viváqcua  .                                                                                      

            From the set of the words that composes the vocabular universe of Geni Viváqcua we recognized as the subject of the project: “The alphabet helps the actions of the pupils friends”

            We built an alphabet in light sarja tissue in the beige and red, detaching the vowels from the set of consonants. Each letter can be worked and separated form each other because they have a pocket that we can put cards in it and any other object else correlated to the letter of the alphabet. The rabbets of the letters were made in a way that they fix in the alphabetic order only.    

            This experience served as learning and it will be very useful to remember this, not only because was very agradable, but also because we learn how the designer career works every step were really necessary until we have the final product. I learn that the most insignificant things for us, have great value for others, it was really good to see the intercessor working with our product and we realized that the alphabet was really necessary and worked very well.

            I thank Bianca to discuss with me generating in me motivation to conclude the project.

            I thank Geni for believe in us using our archetypes witch generated in me pride.

            This experience was necessary because we could understand and valued each step of the process. After the use of the product by the intercessor, we could realize how each step was important. It was very grateful to se the conclusion of the project and seeing Geni using it with the children, she could realize that the product is going to be very useful and will help the children in this time of life witch is the alphabetization

            I thank Ricardo for have taken me to the school and help always me and for the good work, witch generated in me rewarding and confidence.

            I thank Geni for receiving us so well and for always be so affectionate witch generated in me motivation to do well and hope.
