Rio de Janeiro – REVIVA Rua Padre
Leonel Franca, 248 Gávea, RJ   (Entre a PUC e o Planetário)
   The project was carried out
with the physiotherapist Michelle in the Skull Anomalies Handling Center of
the State of Rio de Janeiro- REVIVA.
Her work is basically to prepare the patients for a good preoperative
and help on the rehabilitation in the post operative.
From the assembly of words in Michelle's vocabular universe we
recognize as aim for the project:
"Adapt to both time and need of each patient".  That phrase adapted very well to Michelle's
work as a physiotherapist, for each patient has his own time of
rehabilitation and learning, and many patients show different types of
  problems to be treated.
It was than defined as a goal for our project to represent the main
activities offered by "REVIVA", making it easier to memorize the
exercises trough images, since the patients were having a hard time
remembering all the steps at home.
As our final objects we made banners teaching diaphragmatic breathing,
nasal lavage, and labial massage, a silicon face with a wooden support, and a
face made of soft fabric with eyes and nose stuffed with seeds. These objects
have as main function to help demonstrating the activities, making it easier
for the patients to memorize what has to be done.
This experience helped us to learn how to handle different materials
when we built our objects. It also helped us realize how people may have
different opinions about the aspects of life, and that we must keep our minds
opened and try to see not only our particular point of view, but everyone else's
too. That is the true meaning of "Team Work".(João)
It helped me to a better understanding of the needs of our mediator
and what could be useful to her, I learned a lot more about her work, and how
flexible you must be in any career you choose. Each individual is unique, and
the treatment must be "custom made" to each of them, that's why the
power to adapt is greatly needed. (Paola)
I thank to Michelle to be always so helpful disposing her time for
that we could develop our project, what generated in me security therefore I
saw that she was interacted with us, wanting to help. (Paola)
I thank to João because he is more organized than me, and he is always
in day with the activities that helps myself to don’t forget the tasks,
helping  me to be more disciplined as
him, that was very important in the development of the project because I
knew  that I could count on him.  (Paola)
I thank to Michelle for always have good will on help us, giving
advices and don’t hesitate in say we were being achieved the proposal of the
project in her work  environment, that
generated in me the opportunity of develop an object that attended the
expectations of the team, having a really functionality.  (João)
I thank to Paola for being creative, meticulous and also by know a
little about the matter related to the work of our mediator, that did myself
seek the best for our work, learning how reconcile our ideas in only
  one.  (João)
