Game circuit Renan Freitas Joana Garcia Social Group: Bruna
Alves Escola Municipal Pedro Ernesto Avenida Professor Abelardo Lobo
nº5, Lagoa, Rio de Janeiro Our research facility for this project was a public school
named Pedro Ernesto, on a near by neigborhood called Lagoa. We were warmly
welcomed by principal Lina and her staff. She showed us the premises and
introduced us to some of the teachears we could develop our work with. Among
them we picked Bruna Alves, who teaches fourth graders. Her role is to
introduce them to math, portuguese language, geography and other regular
disciplines. Our peeking led us to understand her taste for group activities
like resolving questions or readings. From
the set of words that compose Bruna's vocabular universe, we were able to
realize as theme for this project the following sentence: “he who listens
and waits, shall find”. After
getting the sentence, we talked to Bruna to see through her reasons with it. We
found out that she wanted to take her time and listen to those failing
students and try her best to make them
succeed in learning. And also, we immediately associated her fond for group
activities with the sentence she picked. As she said, group work required
lisnteing to your parners, andwaiting for your own turn to speak. After
our very first set of objects tryouts, we understood that we could best
bruna's desire for interactivity through games, because it startled the
feeling for competition and demanded a lot a focus from all players. The
game we made was composed of three elements, a die, a roulette, and a human
sized game board. They were all made of the same material and color, beeing
the material a kind of plastic called vinil, that was selected for it's
durability, flexbility and the easyness it demands for it's cleaning. And the
colors were basic like red, green, blue, and also at maximum hue. I,
Joana, learned that team work only values more it's final product, and that
everybodys contribution is major for a better project, and also, that this
very interaction is the key to the soul of design. I thank Bruna for all the
care with which she took us inside her classroom and worked with us. That
made grow on me a overwhelming will to cooperate with her. I thank Renan for
beeing a responsable man, and for always meeting with expectations. That made
grow on me a certain feeling of serendipity. I
Renan, understood the value of the process of a project. I know now that the
true way to reach a solid final product, must first meet a series of steps,
and that those steps are absolutely more important then the end result
itself. I thank Bruna for all the admiration e good will, which made grow on
me great proud and bliss, that helped me achieve a beautyfull product. I
thank Joana for all the effort with which she led our adventures this
semester, which dawned on me the same will for effort, granting the certainty
of success. Subject: DSG 1002 Class: 1AG Professores: Ana Branco e Luis Vicente Barros |
