Public School Marília de Dirceu Jangadeiro
Street, 37 Claudinha.3939@gmail.com Tel.: 2277-0362 Our project was held in the
public school Escola Municipal Marília de Dirceu, with the help of Cláudia, a
second grade elementary teacher. Her main goal in class was to teach normal
and failing students how to learn grammar and mathematics. During the course
of the project, we observed activities such as an oral calling of the
students’ names and exercises done in their notebooks. Based on words from
Cláudia’s everyday vocabulary, we created a phrase that would serve as theme
of our project: “Education and love helps children’s behavior, to work and to
study.” The activities chosen by the teacher related to the phrase were: the
calling of students’ name, the counting of the quantity of students in class,
exercises made in the black board and the calendar. After experimenting, we
decided that the goal of our project was to build a device responsible for
the calling of the students’ names, combined with the counting of the
students total and the weather of the day. Our intention was to create a
product where students would be able to interact with the activities, and at
the same time, learn in a fun way. After testing different materials and
shapes, we were able to define how our product would be build. We used two
rectangular fabrics; one in pink for the girls and the other in blue for the
boys, with twenty compartments each for the names of the students. For the
counting of the students total and the weather of the day we used three
pieces of MDF, one enrolled in pink denim, the other one in blue and the last
one in gray. The numbers 1 to 20 were sewed with gray felt in those denim
fabrics and the other forms were made out of various colors of felt. To put
the numbers and the other forms (of the weather) in evidence, we used a
“window” made out of polipropileno. We thank Claudia for committing
herself to the project since the beginning. Always cooperative with our
experiments, we noticed that her help was extremely necessary for a
successful development of the project. Based on that we now have a bigger
desire to work in teams, for the result is always positive. Due to what I’ve learned during
this project, I saw the importance of listening to others. That contributed
for a growth in personal maturity. (Fernanda) The method suggested for this
project, has helped me to plan my time better. That influenced me not only in
my academic life, but my personal life as well. (Marina) Discipline: DSG 1002 Class: 1AE Teacher:
