Catete,n 77 Catete -
Rio de Janeiro CEP:
22220-000 Our project was carried out in Tancredo Neves CIEP
located at 77 Rua do Catete in Catete neighborhood. Our contact in the school was the literacy teacher
Fátima Aparecida Soares. During the observation period we found that the day
always started with the routine of writing the date together, counting the
students and picking the helper for the day. The majority of activities
involved writing names, cutting and pasting, jigsaws, completing drawings and
associating figures and shadows, as well as learning vowels. One of the days we spent there our contact teacher
distributed a page with the vowels drawn in dotted lines and asked the
students to complete these drawings, after which they received a list where,
with the help of the teacher, they drew figures related to these vowels. Based on the set of words that composed the
vocabulary universe of Fátima we chose the theme for the project: “observe
and place the vowels in the alphabet.” The chosen phrase was related to the
majority of the activities proposed by the contact teacher, such as: the day
that the students had to stick their names beside the corresponding vowels
(e.g., Pedro stuck his name beside E and O), and a dynamic that involved
children receiving papers with vowels and others with drawings corresponding
to certain vowels. Based on the experiments carried out and warm/cold games
we chose as a starting point interactive dominoes. These dominoes
consisted of a transparent plastic and denim base, which had two sizes -
large and small - and laminated letter and drawing cards, which allow the
teacher to create the dominoes he or she wants and with different levels of
difficulty, thereby enabling them to work with the various levels of
development of students in the literacy process and add parts as necessary. The larger bases have been used for teaching
syllables and the smaller ones are either used with the logic of dominoes or
in the simple direct association of figures and letters. Natalia- The project helped me mature both
personally and academically. I learned the importance of questioning and
rethinking the decisions taken during the project. It taught me to appreciate
the exchanges and meetings experienced in the place we chose with my partnet
and in the class. would like to thank Fátima for her happiness and
willingness to work with us, which both made me happy and taught me the
importance of a good relationship. I would like to thank Amanda for her
contagious good mood, which created in me an enormous admiration for her
because she taught me that teamwork can be great fun. Amanda – I learned that the project consists of an
intense process of exchange, of deadlines to be met, the development of all
the details and a period of time. It is also a Pandora’s Box of surprises
that can unveil great friendships during this trajectory. I would like to
thank Fátima for having dedicated herself to our project and for her smiles
which gave me the comfort to work with her and taught me that smiles are
essential. I would also like to thank Natalia for our experience together and our opening with each other which
created in me the certainty that I would gain a special friend and taught me
that friendship does not depend on time itself, but on the interaction of
people. Subject: DSG 1002 Class: 1AD Professores: Ana Maria Branco e
