| | Letting the Movements Flow Among and Trough the Arcs Ana Paula Hupe Lívia King Social Group: Renata
Marinho Versari Núcleo de Artes do Leblon (Leblon Arts
Core) Rua Gilberto Cardoso, s/n Leblon - Rio de Janeiro   Our Project was developed in the Núcleo
  de Artes do Leblon, with
  the intercessory Renata Versari,
a dance teacher. She teaches ballet and contemporary dance, witch is the one
we followed during a four-moth-period. The intercessory purposes plenty of
improvisation activities during her classes, stimulating the creativity and
freedom in her students. From a set of words which composes Renata’s vocabulary universe, we recognized as a theme
for our project the sentence: “To
dance letting the movements flow: give your body to the dance”. The activities that have a clear and direct relation
with the project’s theme are the ones of improvisation, in which the student
has to let their body free to make the movements happen. From the first
experimentations, we took as a party the development of elastic fabric rings.
This idea, however, matured and brought the creation of two objects: the
rings, made in pipe fire suppression coated in lycra,
in the seven rainbow colors; and a spiral, made by seven hula hoops, coated
in black viscolycra. The experimentation of the
final product was in improvisation activity, in which the students danced
among and through the arcs, which can be structured in many possibilities of
quantity, shapes and configuration, and among and through the spiral, which
also can be structured in many configurations, heights, and sizes, when the
persons that stand in which side of it, tenses it. Lívia King’s conclusion: I’ve learned to defend my ideas during this Project,
besides looking at the world in new perspectives. I thank to Renata for all dedication she had to our project, which
made me learn that she appreciates everything we built together.  I thank to Ana Paula for all the effort to
make everything work during the project, which made me learn that when the partner
puts everything she has, the result can only be constructive and positive. Ana Paula Hupe’s
conclusion: I’ve learned that when it looks like we’re
retreating in the process, we’re not necessarily receding – in our case we
retreated to progress. We sought what stood behind us and brought to the
present, and then evolved until reached the final product. I’d like to thank Lívia for being the 50% closest to the 100, with all her
dedication and worries about our baby. I thank to Renata
for have been so helpful, thoughtful and entertained with our project – that
showed me the tuning of reciprocity enthusiastic and interested in what we
  stood. Evaluation
from the intercessory Renata Versari: The
product developed by the students Ana Paula and Lívia
impressed me by the capacity of application and support to the classes, since
the movement research and improvisation exercises, as also to the possibility
of scenery construction, with plastic finish, and it will be part of a final
dance presentation. It’s a beautiful articulate material that presents multiple
plastic forms, sculptures, making the students feel instigated to try it. Man
can also multiply the many movement games strategies by the gathering of the
parts, that now can be used in an individual investigation, and sometimes is
articulated in links and new variants appear. This result had success
certainly by the dedication and interest with which the girls followed the
classes, as also by the dialog capacity among us. Aware of the indications
and nees, they made and remade proposals in the direction
of the class goal at that moment. Certainly this product will be a great support to
the dance classes in any time, enriching the experiences in the workshop.
Thank you very much! Discipline: DSG 1002 Class: 1AC Teachers: Ana Branco
