We made the project with Maria Pires, Jazz
teacher, at Sauer Danças, Jardim Botânico.
There has not only jazz but a lot of other kind of activities like yoga, stretching
and others. Maria works with children from 3 to5 years old, giving jazz classes,
tap-dancing and ballet. In her classes she does activities like exercises of tap-dance,
choreographic dances, trial, and she also uses objects like hats, archs and
fabrics. With
the collected words that compounds Maria’s vocabulary universe, we recognize
as project theme: “ Dance Ballet makes you Fly” The
activities related with the phrase are the choreographic dances, and the
objects used by Maria in order to draw the children’s attention to the
classes. The
defined concept was to create a product that stimulates the children’s
imagination and make the classes more interesting. As
final object, we created crowns with ornaments that sparks and shakes, so the
children make the exercises better. We cut
and sew the gold satin on the shape of a crown and stuffed it with foam of The
crown has been used in choreographic dances and exercises, in order to stimulate
a good exercise. Ana: I
learned with the Project to work with a partner, to listen and speak I thank
Bárbara for always being ready and dedicated to the Project, what made me
feel ready to always make more. I thank
Maria for helping us without complain what made me feel really thankful for her collaboration. Bárbara: I

for supporting my decisions what made me feel confident. I thank
