Summary:
We did the project in Engenho de Dentro at the Municipal School Goiás along with the teacher Ambrozina Souza. Her lectures takek place daily in the morning in a class called PDD (pervasive developmental disorders) with autistic students and especially with a hyperaggressive student. Her main function was to practice literacy and recognition of numbers with the class slowly and repetitively to overcome the problem of memorization. Throughout the beginning of class the teacher was careful to pass the routine under determining chronologically what were the tasks and events that day, that attitude drew the students attention to themselves and hindered the constant dispersion of that group. From the set of words that composes the vocabulary universe of Ambrozina we recognized as the theme for the project: "Let's sing and write what we feel to fall in the world." The teacher developed his method of teaching beyond words for she had a collection of commemorative dates of cds that were placed every day. She took advantage of the letters to show students how to write and how was the simple word structure of everyday life such as: egg, sun and grapes. It was defined as objective of the project that we should focus on: put together the pieces of the doll with their own bodies; put the letters together to make writing; and join the sound with the weather. Always on the move to join the abstract (inner world) with the reality (the outside world). As a final object was made an apron that could be placed on the wall taking the panel function, a globe that opened in half, maps of continents, elements that represent the change in weather: clouds, sun, rain drops, rays; 4 puppet animal finger (sapo, pork, chicken and rabbit) and six finger puppets representing each of the students. The apron was made of blue and white woven carpet sewn by machine. The globe is made of glued magazines foil webs to one another using a circular die to maintain the round shape, after drying the semicircles received each of kraft paper, they were covered by blue mesh and the parts were joined by a green zipper. The weather elements are made of white, blue and yellow felt, filled in acrilon and sewn by machine. Both animals fingers dolls students were made of felt, hand embroidery and sewn. The teacher puts the apron and opens the globe to pick from within the elements that make up the planet. Initially she cares to tell them about the space and time then she sticks cloud, sun or rain to comment on the weather outside. It uses the continents to give sense to them that they live in a world in which there are countries, cities and continents distant from each other. The animals are used to tell a story, comment on direfenças between human and animal, to sing songs that make reference to their species and to increase the contact with the students and their participation in the activities, since they need to put the fingers in the dolls. The dolls representing the students are used to make the call helping representation of who is present and who is absent, with the emphasis on participation as they rise and stick to your own doll apron. At the end of its use, the teacher hangs the apron on the wall which allows students to have direct access to the information given at the beginning of class.
Final conclusion Paula::
I chose to do this project because my goal was to continue with the proposal of the first project: work directly with people. It was amazing to have had again the opportunity in a diverse place like Municipal School Goiás. I felt alive, I felt good, I felt grateful for every day I went to school and was greeted with a smile by the partner and with open arms by students. From the janitor to the principal, all contributed to the deconstruction of thought I had about autistic and "their world". This process has broadened my world view because each day I arrived and saw the special transport bringing students, the amount of drugs and their relatives waiting for the exit time to take them to the treatment of the day, were new experiences that took me out of my bubble and made me realize that what was new for me was the day to day lives. Have participated on everything so closely, that was unique. Thank Gabrielle because it has always been attentive to every stage of the project, encouraging me and making everything hard and dedication. Thank for the words spoken at the right time, your understanding before my personal problems and conversations on the long road to the PUC. Our friendship was built with laughter and jokes, but strengthened by our dedication and passion for the project. Their way of being motivated and woke me up in me the desire to dedicate myself as much as she for the project to be implemented in the best possible way. Thank Ambrozina by the fact that this human being who cares so much about the next as to go beyond their strength for their students, which she said are his family. Years with the same group didn’t make the teacher give up or get discouraged; her daily joy, love and dedication, renewed the hope of those who were around her. With her I learned to understand more the other, your life awakened in me a desire to be helpful because when we help someone, we receive more of what we offer. And his joy in the midst of a busy work reflects it.
Final conclusion Gabrielle:
Do this project was a unique experience filled with deconstructions and learning. I taught a class does not have to be the "traditional" way, which, incidentally, we can rethink our whole way of living and behaving. Have chosen to work in a classroom with autistic youngsters certainly changed my perception of the world and made me more valued all the gifts that life gives me. Ambrosina became for me an example. Thank Ambrosina for giving their classes in so dedicated and selfless manner, which showed me how important is the role of a teacher, created in me inspiration and renewed my belief in humans. I am also grateful for the love and care she has with people, their way of being and acting to help the other and optimism to face life, even when it comes to cases or people who put it down. It taught me that no matter what happens, we must not lose faith and motivation to keep doing what we believe is right. Paula thank you for choosing me as a duo and have become my friend on this path, which was not too difficult, since she is a wonderful person, fun, mate, very communicative, among other things. With her I learned a different perspective, a different view of life, in addition to several stories that have enriched me as a human being. Finally, we must register here our phrase: "Everything will be fine!"
Full evaluation of the Advocate
Considering the positive outcome of elaborate materials efficiently and creatively, as well as involvement with the group and assisted with the teacher, in general, the duo's performance of PUC students was excellent.
