Interative game for new paths discoveryTeam:
Our project was done at a public school in Gávea(Escola Municipal Marechal Oscar Tenório), with the teacher Gabriela Barreto da Silva. We observed a class of 4rth graders and there we watched the teacher give out exercises, such as math on paper adds, reading, music interpretation, also we went with them on a field trip to the planetary which was part of the science activities. From the set of words that make up the vocabulary universe of Gabriela we recognized as theme for our project: “Which trail will we take to reach the moon?” One of the activities that has to do with this phrase was the field trip to the planetary, where we watched as the students engaged in a free activity observing the planets alongside with Gabriela, who would ask questions and make comments about the solar system. With the observations made during our four encounters regarding the vocabulary universe of the teacher and the theme phrase of the project we created several experiments, such as, board games, the box of goals and the guessing game. We found that the best way to discover the path to the moon was by building knowledge of the given subject in a playful way, with team work and the student’s participation. As a final prototype we made a game of hoops, with circular vinyl rings which’s polished surface allows students to write and erase, with white board markers, the questions of the game itself. There are five house colours: red, blue, green, yellow, which are also the team colours; and orange, which is the teacher’s colour. The orange house, belonging to the teacher, is also the challenge house. Which is linked to a screen with circular parts where the student throws the ball selecting a question, which are put by Gabriela into the sewn on pockets of the circular parts. To help the students identify themselves, each group member recieves a bracelet with the colour of their group, and the group lider (changed each round) uses a colar identifing him as the board piece.
