Escola Municipal José Linhares
Rua Barão da Torre 90

The project was conducted in the school hall José Linhares with the teacher Michele Carvalho who is responsible for pre-literacy class, with children 5-8 years. The classes consist of Michel teaching the students the beginning of writing. However, since the beginning of the observation, we noticed that Michele spends part of her time talking to their classes students seeking to understand their problems inside and outside the school. When the class becomes very excited, Michele turns off the lights for everyone to calm down.

Another very recurrent activity during class is reading books read by the students themselves. From the set of words that make up the vocabulary universe of Michele Carvalho recognize as the theme for the project: "Show Love Today is special." With that, we began by creating experiments. We create fantasies of "Barbies" and "Max Steels" forming a code between them. Moreover, other experiments that had been created a form of heart as symbol of love.

After realizing that the teacher cared about the feelings of each student, we opted for the creation of new alternatives. The new variations allowed us to reach the final prototype that consists of a heart shaped rug with twenty contours of the hand embroidered hearts. Each one of these embroidery form a kind of puzzle which must be positioned in one of the twenty pads made on one side of red satin and the other ten different types of red tissues. In each of the pads there is a pocket in which are embedded two wood rounded pads having on each side a variation of mood. There is also a ring in every heart that enables the teacher to conduct fishing activity.

At school, Michele asked for all students to sit around the mat cushions and then distributed one heart to each student. After that she asked for each student to position the heart in the carpet until the puzzle was completed. Then Michele did the fishing activity and asked the students to take one of the mood pad and say about their feelings.

Conclusion and Fabio’s thank:

this semester I learned to see the world through the eyes of those children who grabbed my arm and begged me not to leave them. Today, I learned that more important than anything "show love today is special." I thank Fernanda for not letting me give up. Learned to face new challenges lightly and test my limits to grow as student and person. I thank Michele for showing me the most different meanings of love. She made me learn that when we are "sharing" love, actually, we are multiplying it!

Conclusion and Fernanda’s thank:

I learned a lot and lived a unique experience with his project. I had to learn how to work with deadlines, and how to plan myself . The project taught me how to work with children and learnt from Michele the importance of “showing love today is special”. That phrase made me more mature as a person, so did the project finished. I thank Fabio for believing in our project from the beginning and that made me believe that everything would be alright in the end. Learning this led me to believe more in myself and in everything that I do. I thank to Michele for her good humor and for teaching me the importance of love, the feelings in our lives and also the effect they generate in children. She led me to believe more and more that when we love the things we do in any achieved a great deal.

Michele’s evaluation

It is with great joy and satisfaction that I am here to say of this "dynamic duo." On the beginning the work and I did not think my students and I were to be so much involved in the process of this fantastic work. I really do think that all teachers that are responsible for this project are making it so beautiful. I am delighted not only with the end result, but also the process of the work itself. Surely that comes in, not only my class, but all of the school which will using this material. All school professionals, including my directors are amazed. I have no more words to thank.
