The project had place in the CIEP Presidente Agostinho Neto , in Humaitá. We worked with Amália Araújo, the teacher who makes the activities of the reading room and works with all classes of the school , from 1st to 5th year. During the meetings, we listened and wrote down her words said during the activities proposed by her, including the accompaniment of popular brazilian songs with video , drawing and coloring and folding origamis , everything related to reading or creating stories. From the set of words that composes the vocabulary universe of Amália, we recognize as the theme for the project : "to learn you can sing , assemble , fold the behavior and imagination, illustrating our path with literature ." Through related experiments , we recognize the Adopted Party to be developed with the intercessor : panels / cards that support the demonstration of the sequences, based on the history panel. We built a hat that, in the head of the student, indicates the moment to present what was made, and that also works as a packaging for the card. 10 panels of Parana paper , 46cmx34cm, coated with carpet of different colors , with two black grosgrain ribbons on top, that allows the panel to be tied around the students neck when it comes to presentation time.

40 "tablet" of Parana paper, 23cmx17cm, lined with denim with a pocket of acetate and Velcro on the back, that allows the fixation of the sequence of the stories in the panels. This set is being used by Amalia in a dynamic of creation and storytelling by students , either with writing, illustration or origami.

Luiza Vieira:

The Project 1002 has made me grow a lot as a person and as a designer. I've learned to be patient and see the criticism as a chance to improve, that it's not easy to reach a solution, that it is necessary to get it wrong a lot times before we get it right. Also, I confirmed my feeling of gratitude for having once again the chance to mingle with an intercessor and her students, building with them a wonderful work. I learned as well to plan better to get everything delivered on time. I lived and met amazing people, having the privilege of having class among the trees, this pleasant, warm and loving environment.

I'm thankful to Amália for having received us with open arms since the first day we went there, for trusting in our work and for transmitted, during conversations at the end of the class, her knowledge and her willingness to live in a better world, free of injustices. I am grateful to Amália for being an example of a person and teacher, who fights for her rights as a teacher and can convey her love and enjoyment for giving lecture to students.

I thank Marina for being a very fellow partner, proactive and, above all, a friend. I am very grateful to her for making me realize that with the right person, working in pairs becomes not only a division of labor, but turns into fellowship.

Marina Lemos:

With Project 1002, I learned that nothing is certain, that not even the most precise planning ensures that everything will go the way we wondered. We can have a whole life planned with the greatest care, but we can never be sure that everything will go according to plans. With that, I realized that you need to consider all scenarios and learn the most from each unforeseen. The same goes for the final prototype, which begins in a way, stay this way for a while and then suddenly takes a different turn. I learned that I must be aware that things may take other paths and that I probably won't be prepared, but I should't freak out about it and should try to make the most of the situation.

I'm very thankful to Amália for her calm and caring, for being our intercessor the same time she fought for her rights. Her love for her profession and students is contagious and inspiring, creating in me the desire to be as inspiring as her. Amália became definitely someone I admire.

I thank Luiza for being an amazing duo, for having performed all that was combined and even more. For, besides partner, being a friend, for having endured my little bouts of shyness and moodiness, without trial. With our disagreements I learned to listen and to get out of my comfort zone, because I realized that, by doing so, l'll get amazing results.

Intercessor Amália Araújo:

The project in the reading room, in the year of 2013, resulted in a pleasant surprise . From the beginning , the trainees have always acted with great delicacy , always very concerned with the operation and development of the activities of the reading room . Very interesting to see in the wordplay how much they heard and recorded my lines and drawings of the classroom activities. The moment of the experiments became magical for students, who explored and tried to develop something with the material .

The product designed by the duo, since the first tests, showed great applicability in the classroom. A material that allows multiple uses and that can be used in creations of text and comics by students, as well as storytelling done by the teacher and also exhibition of works from the reading room . The possibility to have a material that can be used by various groups is very important. The product has attractive colors , good resistance for use with children , flexibility in the use and disposal. Again, thank you for partnering with the project. It's a job that has given good results for the work of the reading room .
