Escola Municipal Pedro Ernesto
Rua Professor Abelardo Lobo , 5 - Lagoa

We carry out our project at the Municipal School Pedro Ernesto located in Lagoa, Rio de Janeiro. Among school teachers, we chose as our intercessor Professor Marcelo Monteiro who teaches Physical Education. Marcelo is tasked to encourage children to do physical exercises but also its methodology is to exercise the expansive mind these children have with varied games that explore their imagination. For example: the classic game of "Cat & Mouse" where Cats (catchers) are randomly selected to catch the rats that are protected by a human circle formed by the students. When the Mouse runs away from this circle security, the Cat can catch it and get it out of play. From the set of words that make up the vocabulary universe of Marcelo Monteiro he recognize as the theme for the project: "Run, kicks,Shout and Jump with joy as the Rat flees from the Cat. " Relating the phrase aim of the activities carried out, he always saw that stimulating children to run and move creates the concept of "Natural Fitness" to the them which are the movements of : running, jumping, throwing and rolling. This concept became our Adopted Objective. And from it and our desired experiments, we developed an obstacle course that could be assembled and dismantled in accordance to the will of the professor. This circuit consisted of bamboos of different sizes and thicknesses which together with a rope, assumed various functions depending of both the imagination of the teacher to create activities, as well as the children to use this object. After we cut the bamboo, we finished each piece with the “Node of the Indian” made of colored strings to identify the use of each segment of bamboo. Today it is used as an accessory to make physical education classes more challenging and fun, which provided the final trials of experiments, has gathered more and more students in these activities that motivate students to use their imagination.

Maria Victoria :

My experience of doing this project was very wonderful for me, mainly because of my familiarity with my double, my teachers, my monitors, my partner and his students. These were people who taught me to listen to each other, as were with your advice and observations that allowed our project arrived at our goal final. During lessons of my teachers in class as my partner and i went there we were surronded by solidarity and love, that only made me want more and more for everything to be perfect and with that please them the way they deserve. It was a joy to see the kids having fun using our prototype, it was with joyful inspiration in the lessons that we set our project

I thank my partner Felipe to have been a brother to me, because it was the partnership, affection, attention and patience it brought us together forming a great friendship with him that even during the difficult times we never had disagreements, because one or the other was always there wanting to understand ,to arrive at a conclusion that would please both.In that way Felipe taught me to trust him, because it was with this confidence he gave me security in difficult times, and we managed to get a result than we expected in our project.

I thank my partner Marcelo for having shown me to be a different teacher, which cares about the joy of children during their lessons, which the freedom to decide what they want to do.I thank him for always showing great affection for me and by Felipe, which always gave us the necessary attention, answered all our questions complementing their experiences with teaching, that it only enriched our entire process of work.So i learned from him that love and joy in everything we do is best for everyone and the result will be much more rewarding.

Felipe Salazar :

The process by which we were able to do this project was not easy and had many obstacles, those who showed me the value of the reward for a job done with dedication and whim. The immersion in the environment that the students learn and the day-to-day that followed during each visit were vital in my learning as a human being, because I learned a lot from watching the attitudes of the teacher with the students, always caring and helpful. My teachers, monitors and classmates were all very important and made my process smoother and without them, I admit I would not have much support for going after what I wanted to accomplish. In all environments in college class or classes of our partner we were surronded by that feeling of joy and happiness of living annew experience. In the end , to see the kids having fun using our product was amazing, a feeling of victory and gratitude for all I have lived and how things fit together and flow its own course.

I thank my partner Maria Victoria all sincerity and seriousness that we built during this project. Our friendship became more strong because I could trust her not to leave me in times of need and she felt the same way. Even during tough times we always dialogued and were quite aware of what action would be best for what we were facing. Without this balance we could create I am sure that the work would not be as remarkable as it was.

Thanks to my partner by Marcelo shown me to be a teacher different from all kinds I had ever known, with a unique affection for their students, Marcelo stimulated beyond the body, the child's mind, always giving space for their own imagination dictate the course of some classes. He was very attentive to us and always participatory in the process always wanting to tell a little more about the school enviroment. These brief moments of conversation always turned me to share these feelings to the students, we felt more and more present in that space that was so important to us.
