Escola Municipal Tristão de Athayde
Rua Bráulio Medeiros, 405 - Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro

Summary:

We realize the Project II at the Tristão de Athayde Municipal School, in Barra da Tijuca, with the professor Gabriela Martins Bernardes. During our weekly enconters, we observe her activities and obtained her speech, sets of words that made up the vocabulary universe of gabriela, wich we recognize the main frase of the project: “Students play in the big wheel , the school and, with music and history, learn playing”.The key point of the sentence are his last words , learn playing and the wheel, an activity that Gabriela starts her class , which is the time when everyone has their time to speak , to be heard and to hear each other. It is also the wheel that Gabriela seeks to teach students in a playful way . Through elaborate experiments and related on accordion, we define the Adopted Party for the work developed by the intercessor : Mix , join the wheel the activities in which learning is playing. This definition has shown us that the wheel would be motor that would move all learning through play that she made there . As a final prototype, we built a wheel with four meters in diameter, divided into 8 slices, each with a rainbow color in denim, swen on the dubbed nylon. In each slice was made matelacé to give structure slices and buttons were placed on their ends, so that the slices could separate and join with greater ease. The prototype features intended to physically establish the wheel, in which children can learn while playing , always in a playful way , being able to separate and come together in modules for the different activities in the classroom.

Thanks from Carolina

I thank Gabriela to be always present, always to find a way to put our experiments to test, by saying when she was not good or did not fit well in class. She showed me a teachers who believes in class who teaches and a patient and open-minded for experiments ( and experiments, and variations, and observations ... ) new and new methods. I thank Yuri to be responsible , much more than me, and for always supporting me , doing their part and charging my when I was worried and stressed about the work of other classes. I am also grateful for he accepting to do another project with me and by the willingness to put up with me for another semester!

Thanks from Yuri

I thank Gabriela for all she does and represents , in the face of all adversities and problems of education in our country. This led me to act anyway, so education is something for everyone, and through the Design made turn it into something more interesting and productive. I thank Carolina for being until the end of the project an extraordinary duo, and a intelligent person and dynamic being, with whom I could share all the emotions and project experiences. This led me to value the friendships and the importance of another view next to mine.

Gabriela Martins Bernardes

It was a pleasure to be part of this project. Earlier I did not know how me and my nursery class two could help and participate. In the first meetings it was a little strange to have two people watching and taking notes in his memo pads. The curiosity was great and the children soon became comfortable with their presence and always asked if it was the day of Carol and Yuri. During the first experiments already showed me how this experience would be rich and playful and so was getting. The difficulty increase as I have to choose between them. Everything was done thought in my small children’s and for me it was great to be different everyday in the classroom. Be assured that the wheel will color the morning of many children and I will always remember the times we spent together. Thank You!!!! Prof. Gabriela.
